How To Book A Skin Consultation at City Laser & Skin Clinic in Leicester

If you're thinking about improving the health and appearance of your skin, the first and most important step is booking a professional skin consultation.

Perhaps you are concerned about acne, pigmentation, rosacea, ageing skin or simply want a healthier complexion - a personalised consultation ensures you receive the right advice and the right treatment from the very beginning.

When you're trusting someone with your skin, experience matters. Our knowledgeable team has helped thousands of clients improve their skin confidence using advanced technology, evidence-based treatments and professional skincare.

City Laser & Skin Clinic owner and aesthetics practitioner Dimple Verma has 20 years' experience in assessing skin disorders so you are in very capable hands.  Consultations are carried out using a traditional Wood lamp that emits safe ultraviolet light or blacklight to highlight any issues with your skin.

We take time to understand every client rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution. Our recommendations are based on your individual skin, lifestyle and goals.

Why is a skin consultation so important?

Consultations at City Laser & Skin Clinic Leicester

It can be tempting to book a treatment after seeing impressive before and after photos online, but what works brilliantly for one person may not be the best option for another. During your skin consultation, our experienced practitioners take time to understand your skin rather than simply treating what is visible on the surface.

We assess factors including:

Your skin type
Skin sensitivity
Medical history
Lifestyle
Current skincare routine
Previous treatments
Your short and long-term skin goals

This allows us to recommend treatments that are both safe and effective for your individual needs.

We treat the cause, not just the symptoms

Many common skin concerns have several possible causes. For example, acne can be linked to hormones, skincare products, stress or lifestyle. Pigmentation may result from sun exposure, hormonal changes or previous inflammation.

Rather than guessing, your consultation allows us to investigate what may be contributing to your skin concerns so we can recommend the most appropriate treatment plan. This personalised approach often delivers far better results than trying multiple treatments without expert guidance.

Which skin concerns can a consultation help with?

A skin consultation is suitable if you're concerned about acne and acne scarring, pigmentation and sun damage, rosacea, redness, fine lines and wrinkles, ageing skin, uneven skin tone, enlarged pores, dull or dehydrated skin, sensitive skin, scarring, skin texture or excess oil or congestion. We also offer laser hair removal consultations which are extremely popular at our Leicester skin and laser clinic.

Even if you're unsure what treatment you need, that's exactly what your consultation is for.

What happens during your consultation?

Your appointment is relaxed, informative and completely tailored to you.

We'll begin by discussing your concerns and what you'd like to achieve. We'll examine your skin, ask questions about your health and skincare routine, and explain which treatments are likely to deliver the best results.

Depending on your concerns, we may recommend treatments such as:

Chemical peels

Microneedling

Medical-grade skincare

Laser skin rejuvenation

IPL treatments

Hydrafacial treatments

Skin tightening

Acne treatments

Pigmentation treatments

Anti-ageing procedures

If a treatment isn't suitable for you, we'll tell you. Our priority is always achieving safe, realistic and long-lasting results rather than recommending unnecessary procedures.

Why a personalised skin plan is important

Healthy skin rarely happens after just one treatment. Most concerns improve through a carefully planned programme that may combine several different treatments alongside professional skincare at home.

Following your consultation, we'll explain which treatments we recommend, how many sessions you may need, expected timescales, likely results, treatment costs and aftercare advice.  Having a clear plan means you'll know exactly what to expect throughout your skincare journey.

Can I ask questions during my consultation?

Absolutely. Many clients arrive feeling nervous or overwhelmed after reading conflicting advice online or on social media. Your consultation is the perfect opportunity to ask anything. There are no silly questions, and we'll always provide honest, straightforward answers.

Why we charge for consultations

Every person's skin is unique, which is why we believe every treatment should begin with a professional consultation. Rather than offering a brief discussion, we dedicate around 45 minutes to understanding your skin, your concerns, your medical history and the results you'd like to achieve.

For most new clients, there is a consultation fee of £50 for skin treatments and skin conditions. The only exceptions are laser hair removal and electrolysis, which have different consultation arrangements.
